Well before I start I’d like to tell my dear readers that I had written this post a week back but was afraid of posting it on my blog from the fear of receiving hate mails and arguments that I’ll have to read or listen to from the reasons that will be clear after you’ve read this post.
Butterfly effect…no I’m not gonna talk about butterflies and nor am I gonna talk about the movie Butterfly Effect. But what I’m really gonna talk about today is Chaos theory, theory of relativity and physio-kinetic motions in space and time… (just kiddin)
What is Butterfly Effect? Anyone?? Ok I can see some hands raised. For all those who kept there hands down, butterfly effect states how a very small action can affect a long term event or how a small event can contribute to a very big event. For instance a butterfly moving its wings in Austria can give birth to a cyclone here in Punjab, India.
It was 23rd May 2009(from what I remember), reluctantly I tune into a news channel, afraid that I’m ONLY gonna hear news on how Bangalore Royal Challengers kicked Deccan Charger’s b**t on all the channels. But thankfully there was something else, something that after watching it I wished for IPL news instead. Death of some Sikh guru or preacher had taken place in Austria in a clash between different sects. This had sparked a wave of violence in parts of Punjab (butterfly effect??)
I respect Sikhs a lot because of the fundamentals they follow. But I’d never imagined them like the way I saw them on TV, destroying properties. Sikhism officially rejects castes but social hierarchies still prevail in the religion (and thus the formation of the sect of dalits). Thousands of angry protestors had taken to streets, damaging govt. buildings and setting trains on fire. I just don’t understand how do these protestors know that they ARE not damaging property of one of their OWN (own religion, caste, creed). Few months back there were protests by Biharis and Marathis. People were not allowing trains to run. For God’s sake…can’t those fools understand that there might be people on that train from your own state returning after a long time? Can’t those idiots understand that the bus you are destroying is run by a driver from your own sect and now that you have destroyed it that bus driver from your own sect is now jobless.
This is the reason why I hate religions. As per Murphy (the GOD of Unlimited bullshit)

I am an atheist. It’s not that I don’t believe in a supreme power. It’s just that I don’t believe in religions and therefore I don’t believe in idol worshipping (or in worshipping in that case). And vanity has nothing to do with the actuation of my beliefs (or disbeliefs) nor do I love standing out in the crowd. I do not impose my beliefs on others like the other so-called BELIEVERS try to do. I worship with them, I do all other things that the believers do (can’t recall them as a matter of fact, lol) but probably not with the same dedication.
What if there were no religions. People just believed in God…no Hinduism…no Christianity…no Buddhism…no nothing. Would then the world have been a better place to live? Ofcourse, it would have been a better place. There would not have been any Crusades, no Palestine crisis, no Adolf Hitler, no World Wars. (oops no world war??? Then there wouldn’t have been those classic video game titles on world war too…)
See butterfly effect coming into picture here too. Had not world war taken place, I wouldn’t have had hours of fun on my laptop playing those cool world war action video game titles. It’s all part of the Chaos theory that entangles us in its web.
Try and think of all those results that take place by the flapping of wings of a butterfly…and you’ll be quite amazed on how a small action can contribute to a bigger event.
